Foreigners residing within our jurisdiction holders of an employment contract issued in Argentina for a period of at least one year going to Argentina to perform an specific job, and personel or members of a Staff of a Foreign Trade or Industrial Company being transferred from Canada to its Subsidiary (or a third Company) in Argentina, may apply for this Visa at this Consulate. Those going for a paid internship must also apply for this visa.
Be advised that in order to be elegible for this Visa, the worker must obtain and pay for the "Migratory Permit" in Argentina at Migration Authorities ("DNM", click here). This Visa allows the applicant to obtain the Argentine Document for foreigners (DNI) and to get paid for his/her servicies performed in Argentina.
A) APPOINTMENT:
An appointment must be applied once the applicant has received his/her Migratory Permit from Argentina. You can call us or send an e-mail for that purpose. The date of the appointment the applicant will be fingerprinted and all related documents must be signed by the applicant as well. (see "III. PROCEDURE", below). It is mandatory that the applicant sends us -via prepaid envelope/courier slip or personally- the passports, the money order and the rest of the documents required documents, 15 days prior of the date of the appointment.
Incomplete applications are not accepted.
B) DOCUMENTS:

Valid Passport for at least the next twelve months.
3.
Birth Certificate
(long form)
and Marriage Certificate (if applicable), authenticated by the Department of Authentication of the DFAIT in Ottawa (click here). This documents must be translated into Spanish .
I) Note: If born in Canada but outside our jurisdiction, this document must be legalized by the Consulate in Montreal; if born outside Canada, the applicant must send his/her birth certificate the Consulate or Consular Section of the Argentine Embassy in the Province/Country of birth, or get the Apostille Stamp at the Foreign Affairs Ministry or correspondent authority if the Country is part of the "Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents". II) Note: be advised that the "Registro Nacional de las Personas (RNP)" in Argentina will request that the birth certificate be translated again into Spanish by an official translator in Argentina, in order to issue the Argentine identification Card (DNI). Click here.
III) Note: if the applicant is married, he/she has to submit his/her marriage certificate, even though he/she is travelling alone. If divorced, the correspondent sentence, already certified by the Department of Authentication of the DFAIT in Ottawa (click here for more information) is requested. These documents ought to be translated into Spanish, as well.

Two (2) Photographs 1,5 x 1,5 inches , ¾ right profile, white or light blue background, without glasses, hat or and/or any other sort of face hidden.

Police Record: letter from local Police stating record for the past five (5) years. This document must be authenticated by the Department of Authentication of the DFAIT in Ottawa (click here for more information). In addition, this document must be translated into Spanish. The translation could be done prior to sending it to our legalization or afterwards. In this case, it is not necessary an official translation, just a simple one.
The document must have full signature (not only initialized) and legible name printed out in full. (Only for applicants 16 year so of age and older).
6.
Sworn Declaration of lacking police records and/or penalties of national or international nature (both versions in English and Spanish), to be signed at this Consulate. See here and there.
7.
Fingerprint forms: to be filled out and completed at this Consulate the date of the appointment. We will give the applicant 2 (two) envelopes with his/her passport back, with the visa already stamped, so that he/she can enter Argentina with both the correspondent visa and these 2 envelopes.
8.
Migratory Permit already issued by the DNM (each per applicant).
9. Depending of what DNM indicates:
a) "Employment contract": must state the main terms and conditions of employment that will apply in Argentina including a written statement by the employer setting out that the contract is governed by and is in compliance with the Argentine labour laws. In addition, both the employer and the employee must agree that the contract will not enter into force until the employee is fully authorized to work by the Argentine Immigration Authority. The employer's signature must
be certified by a Notary Public in Argentina and authenticated by the “Colegio de Escribanos”. The worker must sign the contract im the presence of the Consul
or
b) "Intra-company transfers": must present a letter from the employer in Canada confirming that the applicant is currently employed at the company and he/she is going to work in Argentina for a parent, affiliate, subsidiary or branch office of his/her Canada employer. The letter must be written in -or translated into- Spanish, on company letter-head paper and duly signed by an authorized person of the company. This letter must be authenticated by a Notary Public who is registered at this Consulate General (you can check this list).
10. Pay for the consular fees. Thery are payable to: "Consulate General of Argentina", by means of money order or certified cheque. Check out here. They are split in 2 parts, namely: 1. Visa fee, 2. Migratory bag.
III) PROCEDURE:
The applicant is required to come in person to our offices the day of the appointment. The visa will be processed and the passport is going to be returned to the applicant the date of the appointment at this Consulate. In addition, we will give to the applicant two envelopes to be taken to Argentina and be submitted one at arrival to Migration Authorities in the Argentine Airport and the second one to the Authorities of the "Registro Nacional de las Personas", where the applicant must apply for his/her DNI for foreigners.
